“He who has seen Me has seen the Father”

Jesus said, “He who has seen Me has seen the Father” (John 14:9 NKJV). If our view of Jesus is distorted, then our view of the Father will be distorted as well. Jesus is the perfect revelation of God the Father. Through Him, we see the Father’s heart, His character, His love, and His intentions toward us.

Through Jesus, we are acceptable to God our Father.Through Jesus, we receive justification, knowing we will never pay for our sins. Paul wrote by the Holy Spirit in Romans 8:33–34, “Who will bring a charge against God’s elect? God is the one who justifies; who is he who condemns?” The answer is simple—no one.

Through Jesus, we are sanctified—the power of sin is broken.Through Jesus, we are redeemed from Satan, from the kingdom of darkness, from the power of sin, and from this world.Through Jesus, we are saved from the wrath of God.

Romans 5:9–11 declares that because we have been justified by His blood, we will be saved from God’s wrath through Him. When we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son; now, having been reconciled, we are saved by His life. And not only that—we rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have received reconciliation.

Through the blood of Jesus, we now have a clear conscience to serve God. We have peace with God. We can know—deeply know—that God is for us and not against us.

Jesus sympathizes with our weaknesses.  He intercedes for us. He is our King, our Lord, our Friend, and our co-heir—sharing with us the rewards of His victory over Satan.

Why? Because on the cross, Jesus became sin for us. For the first time, He addressed His Father as “God.” He cried out, but the Father did not answer. Jesus was forsaken. When He realized the Father would not respond, He said, “It is finished,” bowed His head, and died. He died with a broken heart.

“For He (God) made Him (Jesus) who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him” (2 Corinthians 5:21).

Jesus is our Righteousness. Jesus is our Savior. Jesus is our Holiness.  Jesus is the only Way to the Father. Jesus is Truth—not an idea, not a concept, but a Person.  Jesus is Life—He died our death so we could live His life.

And as if all of this were not enough, Jesus sent us the Holy Spirit—our Conviction, our Comforter, our Intercessor, our Guide, and our Teacher who leads us into all truth about what Jesus has done for us and who we are in Him.

Jesus has given us His Word and His Church so we may know Him more deeply, be encouraged, and encourage one another as we grow in faith. So get a Bible you enjoy reading, and build a relationship with God as you study it. John wrote, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1). Jesus is the Word of God. To know Jesus, we must know His Word.

One day, we will experience glorification—when we see Jesus and the very presence of sin will be gone. Hallelujah.

Finally, Jesus died for us so we could know—beyond all doubt—that we are the object of God’s love. Say it aloud: “I am the object of God’s love.” Let it settle into your heart. Doesn’t it stir joy, peace, and acceptance to know that God loves you, cares for you, and is concerned not only with how you live but even with how you die?

And remember—Jesus is far more than anything written here. It will take all eternity to discover the fullness of who He is and what He has done. How could we ever imagine that the Father is displeased with us when He and Jesus are one?
